Christmas in July

Last week we celebrated Christmas in July. The ladies reverted back to their childhood days of joyful glee at the new gifts—even to where they play fought over items.


They received things personally (hats, shoes, clothing) for them and their families.

We were also given items to help the work easier and more efficient—scrub brushes, rags, oven mitts, kool-aid mix, and medicine for their children when they are sick.

From all of the ladies, thanks to our friends from Nathan Hale’s Lipscomb group, Keith Boyer’s Florida group, Terry Reeve’s Tennessee group, and Tom Beach’s South Carolina group.

Garden Growth

We have already been enjoying for the past three weeks the green beans and cilantro from the garden. The cilantro is thriving the most--this past Friday, we didn't have to put cilantro on the grocery list because we had picked enough for all of the upcoming week's meals!

The bell peppers and tomatoes are starting to show some growth and will hopefully be ready soon.

The potatoes, onions, and carrots have good looking stems, but I am hesitant to pull them up, yet. Our on-site gardener (Xiomara) says we will pick them soon.

Flexing Some Muscles

Nathan’s group is extending themselves beyond their primary reason for coming to Honduras. They have been of great help to us in Mololoa. Various jobs have been completed.
















Some work was done to help in the feeding center.


















They have cleaned our water tanks to prepare for use at the daycare.






















Some have come out confident as they conquered the task of putting up a barbed wire fence while others…..
















sacrificed their bodies to test out the durability of someone attempting to run through the fence.
























They prepared the sides of the wall to place a sidewalk/gutter/foundation support.
























The sidewalk formation required hauling cement…..










mixing cement…..














and laying cement.

And when no one was looking (or perhaps when all of the restaurant was looking), we had some fun.
